Dr. Katie Vanderwal grew up in Millbrook, Ontario, where she developed a passion for an active lifestyle through gymnastics, dance, and later competitive rowing and cross-country skiing. Her athletic pursuits naturally led to an interest in maintaining a healthy body and managing pain and sports injuries.
Dr. Katie completed her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with Honors from Queen’s University and went on to earn her Doctor of Chiropractic degree (Magna Cum Laude) from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. She has also pursued post-doctorate certifications in Functional Integrated Acupuncture, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy, and specialized prenatal and pediatric courses.
Before moving to Bermuda, Dr. Katie practiced at a family-focused clinic for two years, where she provided care for prenatal, pediatric, and geriatric patients. Passionate about supporting mothers and newborns, Dr. Katie is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and has completed advanced training in assessing and treating tongue, lip, and buccal ties in infants. She also holds a certification in the management of musculoskeletal disorders in pregnant patients, focusing on pain management, exercise prescription, and preparing the body for childbirth.
Dr. Katie is dedicated to helping patients of all ages live their best lives. She believes in an evidence-based approach to healthcare that includes patient education, manual therapy, acupuncture, and rehabilitative exercises. Her goal is to reduce pain, improve function, and empower people to get back to doing the activities they love.
